Turn away,
If you could get me a drink
Of water 'cause my lips are chapped and faded
Call my aunt Marie
Help her gather all my things
And bury me in all my favorite colors,
My sisters and my brothers, still,
I will not kiss you,
'Cause the hardest part of this is leaving you."
"Now turn away,
'Cause I'm awful just to see
'Cause all my hairs abandoned all my body,
Oh, my agony,
Know that I will never marry,
Baby, I'm just soggy from the chemo
But counting down the days to go
It just ain't living
And I just hope you know
That if you say (if you say)
Goodbye today (goodbye today)
I'd ask you to be true (cause I'd ask you to be true)
'Cause the hardest part of this is leaving you
'Cause the hardest part of this is leaving you"
This song... I don't know. Something about it amazes me. It's so tragic, yet so beautiful. Here is the song, if you want to hear it.
I feel so somber after reading the lyrics. But, I hope it speaks to your soul like it speaks to mine. I have never had a first hand experience with cancer, but my grandmother died from skin cancer. I never knew her, But I feel a special connection with her. My mom talks about her sometimes, and I know she was an amazing person.
This is for you Grandma. I'll love you forever.

aww, very sweet thoughts of my mom.
and those lyrics are so powerful.
Oh me, that is powerful. I didn't listen to it, but just the words have me fighting back the tears. A good friend passed away after a long battle with cancer, just last month. It made me think of her.
