I thought I would write an update on my cute little life.

Ummm, I now live at the barn. Not literally of course, but I spend A LOT of time there helping, riding, and just doing whatever. It's getting really hard to work there because I am now tired all the time. I do love it though. It's getting hard to make myself do work there sometimes, because I can be so lazy.

I have also decided that I am going to do everything I can to help my riding. I am tired where I am now, and think working a little harder when I ride Stoney will help that.

I want to lose weight. I hate how I look and it is getting to the when I can't wear clothes I like. I am not obscenely obese, but I world like to lose thirty pounds so I can get down to 110. I just need to get the momentum going.

I love music.

And I will love myself.

Wednesday Group Lesson 5/2/07

I rode Dori in my lesson yesterday. It was pretty exciting. First, when we were cantering she launched into a series of bucks. Then, I took a turn to tight and she scooted and took off. From Welcome to the Black Parade, this epic beautiful song, to Cancer a very emotional piano ballad, to Teenagers which offers some comical insight to teenager's minds. Amazing guitar riffs and solos!!!!! Drumming- amazing. Vocals- Seriously, Gerard Way owns my friggen' soul with his voice. An amazing follow-up to "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge". Life is boring. That is how I feel right now. Even though today is my birthday, today feels like nothing special. I mean, I got great stuff, and my parents were great about it, but I feel like nothing has changed. I am so tired of being young. It sucks. I don't have any friends. Well, let me rephrase that. I don't have any close friends. Friends that share my interests. I have my friends at the barn, but I only see them once a week, at most. And my supposed best friend and I are drifting apart. I feel like I can't talk to her about anything deep. All she wants to talk about is boys and her hobbies. And we only ever talk on the phone. I never see her in person. I try to be patient and listen to what she says but somtimes I get really bored and make up excuses to get off the phone. Somtimes we even can't find anything to talk about. An Ode to Marilyn Manson

I personally think Marilyn Manson is amazing. He has such a dark,tragic,Gothic beauty to him. I also think he is extremely talented. I remember seeing his interview in Bowling For Columbine. He was such a intelligent and articulate speaker. To anyone who does not know who he is-- He is basically the poster-child for goth heavy-metal.

Show Time!

I was in a jumper show yesterday. I had the best time. I got to ride Mikey and Star let me use her show bridle on him. He looked good in it, considering it took me two hours to clean it.

I was really nervous beforehand, because I had four courses to remember. The first half of the first class went okay. I had to hit Mikey with the crop to get him going, and he gave the biggest buck I have ever felt in my life and I almost fell off. But I jumped the course with no faults and got to go to the jump-off. That went great! The second class didn't go as well. Mikey refused a jump and I didn't get into the jump-off. I still had a awesome time!

I Heart Huckabees...

I thought it was a great movie. In my opinion, the movie was like a hybrid of Garden State and Little Miss Sunshine. It was very quirky and odd, yet very funny at the same time. I thought it was about trying to find deeper meaning and looking under the surface of life. I liked the theory that everything in life is connected and it all means something.

There was a great cast in the movie. I LOVED Mark Wahlberg’s character, Tommy. He was very pessimistic, but towards the end when he was on the rock with Albert, you could see his point of view changing. Mark Wahlberg is such an incredible actor. I admire him so very much.

Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin were also great characters. I would love to go around spying on people all day and writing about them in a notebook.

Little Miss Sunshine

The BEST movie I have ever seen. Ever. It was very quirky and funny, but at the same time there was deep meaning. The grandfather was the quirkiest caracter out of all of them. Especially because he snorted heroin. But with that, you could see the deep love he had for him family, and how he tried to support his son Richard, even though his Richard was an a**hole. One of the best parts in the movie was when Richard did not get the contract he wanted, and the grandfather said "I'm proud of you, you took a chance". Since both caracters wern't very likable, it took a moment to appreciate the sincerity of that moment.

My favorite caracter was Dwayne, Sheryl's son. He was such a simple caracter and the actor did a great job portraying him. But he was an important caracter too. The movie would be missing something without him.

I love this music video by My Chemical Romance. It's very raw, emotional, and get-in-your-face gritty.

I have discovered Pink Floyd...

I think Pink Floyd is amazing. I love that they have a kind of dreamy/sunny tone to their songs. Also, with the dreamy tone, they have a electronica- rockish sound. It's like they threw a bunch of genres together. Or, because they are from the 60's, they spawned a bunch of new genres. The Shins are like a modern day Pink Floyd. The Shins have that same dreamy tone with a lot of rock. My mom says she likes a song by Pink Floyd that Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit covered. She likes both versions. That made me laugh out loud. For god sakes, she is wearing a Corona ball cap and a PINK polo shirt! Damn, maybe... my mom is kinda *whispers* cool. AHHHH, I can't BELIEVE I just said that. I need some caffeine. Ok, so she is kinda bad ass.

Naughty Pony Night!

We had Naughty Pony Night in my group lesson yesterday. I rode Feathers, Lauren rode Diesel, Nicole rode Stella, Lily rode Chuckles, Allison rode Radar, and KC rode Sammy. We had so much fun. We did all sorts of different exercises at the trot. For example, we had to stand straight up in the stirrups. If you had your heels down correctly, then you would be able to stay up. On to the jumping. Feathers likes to charge at jumps and then refuse. The first couple times where ok, but when we did three jumps at the last one she refused and I almost fell off. Everybody clapped when I saved myself. But, when I went back to the jump, another horse spooked and Feathers spooked and bucked and I fell off. Oh well. I was due for a fall. After that I asked my instructor if I had to do that again. She said yes. ;-) Anyway, Lauren (Who rides Feathers a lot and knows all of her tricks) said I needed to growl. So I did. Loudly. She went over it. Then we cooled down our horses. It was a fun night!!!

A Beautiful Mind

Today I fell in love with the movie A Beautiful Mind. I adored Russel Crowe in it. He did an amazing job playing John Nash. Of course I loved how awkward he was. I also thought Jennifer Connelly did a good job playing his wife. I don't like how her character resented John for his schizophrenia but I understand it is human nature. I also understand her feelings because John became a different person than she fell in love with. I was surprised that I knew some of the supporting actors, such as Paul Bettany, Josh Lucas, and Adam Goldberg. I was also surprised to see Vivien Cardone in it. I guess I only knew her from Everwood. I know this movie has been out for a few years, but if you have not seen it yet, do see it.

Infinity on High!

I know Infinity on High has been out for a couple of days now, but I still wanted to post about it. I got it on the realease day. I have to say, I think it is their best CD yet. I have been listening to it nonstop for two days now. Go out and get yourself a copy!!!

Meet Joe Black

I have yet another movie I would like to write about. Don't get mad a me people it is my mom's doing. She says if I watch a movie for school I have write about in my blog.

Anyway. Meet Joe Black. Very good. I thought it was a little slow at the end, but Brad Pitt did an awesome job. I used to say I hated Brad Pitt, but after this movie I can't say that anymore. I loved how awkward Joe (Brad Pitt) was when Death took his body. Yes, Death. In the midst of the creepiness it was still a very cute movie. Anthony Hopkins did a good job in this movie also. I thought his character did a good job knowing he was going to die. I would be freaking out because that's just how I am. At the end he had accepted it and was ready to move on. I would probably be resisting at every turn. I didn't like Anthony Hopkins character's personality very much, but I still admired him for his calmness about the situation. It was a lovely movie.

Wilson! Wilsoooooooon!

Yesterday I watched the movie Cast Away. It is starring Tom Hanks and a volleyball named Wilson. It's about a man (Tom Hanks) who boards a plane and the plane crashes into the water and he gets stranded on an island. I thought the movie was really good. I wish it had shown more of him building his shelter, catching his food, maybe more Robinson Crusoe-ish. I felt really sad for him when his lost Wilson, his only companion. Yes, Wilson was a volleyball, but you do need something to keep you sane. I also felt like it was really slow at the end. I mean he got home and nothing really happened. His girlfriend had gotten married and that was that. But, I will watch any Tom Hanks movie and I liked this one.

School Ties

This morning I watched the movie School Ties. It starred Brenden Fraser and Matt Damon. It's about a boy that goes to a boarding school and hides that he is Jewish. It is set in the 1950's so there was still some anti- semetic tensions. I understand why he hid his religion because in the beginning his friends said some anti-semetic comments. It eventually comes out that he is is Jewish and just as he thought, his so-called friends give him a rough time. I liked how he took the wrap for something his friend did, even though his friend hated him because he was a Jew. All in all in was a very good movie.

The Metamorphosis

I recently read The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka for school. It's very quirky but compelling. The writer made me feel such compassion for Gregor. I didn't like when he lost his job or when his family treated him like he was disgusting and wrong. I would feel horrible if the people I loved most didn't accept me. All Gregor wanted was to be loved. I also felt horrible when his family was happy when he died. They celebrated! Who would do that? It made me think how I would act in this situation. I would be the kind of person to accept and love a beetle. I would feed him the food he wanted and kept his room clean. His family did not do that for him. I have a love/hate relationship with this book. But I will definitely read it again.

A Farewell to Barbaro

I have just found out that Barbaro had to be put to sleep. He could not bear any weight on his injured leg. Barbaro was a magnificent animal and he will always be in our hearts. Rest in Peace.

Another Movie...

I know you are so tired of hearing about my movie viewing, but I watched a really good movie with Mom. It's called Love Actually. It is the best chick flick I have ever seen. What do you think it is about? You guessed it, It's people falling in love. It satisfied my happy ending craving. Also, you have to love a movie with Alan Rickman in it. I had an image of him in my head as Professor Snape(Harry Potter) but this showed me how versatile an actor he is. The only downside in the movie was that Keira Knightly was in it. I despise her. I think she is greatly annoying and waaaay too skinny. But, I still loved this movie. It was a lot better with skittles. :)

It reminded me a lot of the movie, Crash. The characters lives all intertwined with each other and there was a lot of conflict.

Well, I have now fallen off Rain four times. I was re-getting on to walk around outside and she bucked and I fell off. Then she took off galloping to her field. Damn pony. I still love her, but she sure love to be bad for me. She is perfect for her owner. Go figure.

My lesson was awesome. I got to ride Stella. She is a blast. We were going so fast to those jumps. I can't wait to ride her again.

My school barn work went great. I didn't get stuck in the mudshit either.

Bowling for Columbine

This morning I watched Bowling for Columbine with my brother. It's a documentary about guns and violence in America. It was fascinating. It mentioned two school shootings and it showed how easy it is to get your hands on a gun. Did you know that the United States has the highest murder rate than any other country? It was completely moving. It also makes you think about how messed up people can be. I mean, I don't think that the U.S. is quite the golden country we say it is. It also made me realize how politically oblivious I am. I did not know that the United States originally helped Saddam Hussein and bought him weapons. This movie was a real eye opener for me. I highly recomend it.

Crash

This morning I watched the movie Crash. It's about different people living their life with racial prejudices. I liked how all of the people's lives intertwined with each other. At some part in the movie most of the people had a conflict with one person. It had a lot of very good actors in it. For example, I thought Terrence Howard did a great job playing Cameron. Matt Dillon played a very unlikable caracter in the begining but towards the end I found him growing on me. There were some rough parts in the movie. The were some moments when I cried my eyes out and also cringed. It disturbed me a lot that racisim is still very real and very strong in some parts of the United States. I would very much recomend this movie. I thought is was great and it left a lasting impression on me. I don't think I will ever forget it.

I'm gonna be in a SHOW!!!

Well my first official show is tomorrow. I have done a couple of barn shows, but the is the real deal. You have to wear the complete show outfit. I get to ride Chuckles!

Star let me hop on Mikey because I helped around the barn. I cantered no stirrups on him! He was really good. After, I groomed him and put on his blanket.

I also rode Rain. She was a perfect angel. I'm surprised!

My friend was also going out to ride her horse bareback and I went to watch because I had nothing to do. She even let me get on him! After I quickly tacked up Rain and went outside to meet her. I rode with her for about ten minutes.

Well that was my day. It was great!

I rode CHUCKLES!

And I must say, God that pony is FAST! We were zooming over those jumps. I couldn't get her to trot the first one. The weird thing is, she is so slow when we are not jumping!

I got to ride Mikey! Star asked me to ride him and he was just a bundle of energy! It was so fun. He bucked a couple times and got a little quick, but it was still very fun! I cooled him and groomed him for an hour afterwards. He got lots of treats too!

I also rode Rain and got to canter her for the first time. Star said she was going to be bad but she was ok. She got very fast and did some head shakes but otherwise it was pretty good.

School barn went great. No problems, I am gettin' into the full swing of things!

I am really excited to go to the barn tomorrow. I get to ride Rain and I have my group lesson. I am also going to ask Rain's owner if it is ok to canter her. She doesn't feel tired at all when I ride her at a walk and trot so I thought I would ask. Here is a picture of Rain:

I have awesome news! I might have a new job riding a horse. I was helping a little girl(She would probably kill me if she heard that I called her a little girl) tack up. Her horses' name is Josiah is he is such a sweetheart. So I was helping her tack up an I said I would love to ride him, you know in a admiring way. Well she said that they would PAY ME! So I didn't believe it of course and asked her if she was serious and she said yes. So I asked Star and she said it would be fine, so know I just have to talk to the girl's(Gaby) mother. So I might get to ride an ARABIAN!

A Great Day...

First it started with Rain being a very good girl. I had to lunge her outside because there was too many people in the ring. She was a little frisky because of the weather, and the fact that she's Rain!

I went to ask Star for something to do, and I ended up organizing some of her office. I was finished with one part so I was going to ask her for something else, but she was on the phone and she can talk for FOREVER! So I just took the lesson sheets and went down to the school barn.

I got Meghan's horse and sent her off. Then I had a couple lesson horses to get. Then it was time for my big group lesson. I had five horses to get for that. I really like when they all come because they are my friends. We all joked and goofed off. But when they left it was time for me to get back to my job. Darn!

I was feeling a little bad about my riding and just a little disappointed in myself. Sometimes it doesn't progress as fast as I'd like it too. And all my friends in my group lesson want me to be in their lesson and I want to also. So I talked to Star so maybe I can improve a little faster and get in their lesson. YAY!

RAIN!

Rain went awesome for me today. I got on her by myself with no problems. I don't even need a lunge whip to make her "go" anymore. She is really blossoming into a sweet lovable girl. She and I have really bonded. She loves her treats too!

My lesson went OK. I tried really hard today. I'm getting better. It's hard with Dori because you have to hold her to make her slow down. Also on my way to the second jump SHE WOULDN'T CANTER! Can you tell that I was a bit frustrated?

Oh well. I've got next week!

I rode Rain again and it went really well! I can stay on the first time and she doesn't buck because I don't let her. I hope she is starting to respect me. Jenn said I need to be a little more tough on her because she has a "tude". Well she is a pony!

I also got to ride Ugly bareback! Star wanted to see if he was still lame, so she told me to slap a bridle on him and hop on! He was still lame which is sad, but hardly life threatening! What was weird to me was that I could feel his spine moving! I haven't ridden bareback in forever so it took me a moment to get used to it.

My shift working in the school barn went well. No mistakes, all went smoothly. I bet you were tired of hearing about all the episodes!

I hit the Wall... Again

You know the story. I was jumping, I didn't steer, we didn't(Dori and I) know were to go, I fell and hit the wall. You gettin' tired of this story? Anyway, my lesson was so awesome! Star had me trot in a straight line not on the rail. Believe me, it's harder than it sound. We also jumped a lot and I did a figure eight of jumps. I'll try to explain. So I would jump a diagonal, then I would jump another diagonal then I would go back to the first diagonal then jump the second. And so on and so forth. I did that about six times. THAT was hard.

Star wanted me to ride Mikey so we could see if he was still lame. That would involve catching him, which is impossible! I yelled, I talked soothingly and did EVERYTHING possible, but that horse WOULD NOT STAND STILL! ARRRRRRG!!!!!!!! I am still angry about it!!!

Grand Prix

My mom and I went to a big show on Saturday. It was the Capital Challenge Horse Show and Grand Prix. The pony classes had started when we got there. It was soo "fun" to see girls younger than me doing courses on 50 thousand dollar ponies. Well, I'll get there eventually. Also we did some shopping and I got a neckalace with a jumping horse on it, a hard brush, a jelly scrubber, a grooming mitt, and treats. The main event was coming up, so we went back to our seats, which were right in frount of a triple. Those jumps were so high I could walk under them. Kent Farrington and his horse Madison won. It was so cool. I can't wait to do that myself!

Mice in the Tack Room!

I was doing my shift in the school barn and I saw so many mice. It freaked me out. I asked people on and off the entire day to come into the tack room with me. Devin(an instructor) didn't seem bothered by it at all!

Rain bucked again as soon as I got on her. Michelle(her owner) said that I need to lunge her before I ride. That's fine because I like too.

I had to get Q out from his field and I didn't know how big it was. It was huge! And he was all the way out there so I had walk all around the field. I'm glad I actually got Q!

Oh and I saw a Practical Horseman in the trash and I asked Star if I could have it and she said yes. Also she said that she would start saving magazines for me.

That was pretty much my day.

Never Trust a Sweet Little Blue Eyed Pony

Seriously. Don't. You remember the beautiful pony I get to ride a couple times a week for her owner? Well as soon as I got on her she started bucking. I hopped of because that was my first reaction. Anyway, Rain started cantering around the ring, then she ran out. I ran after her. Then I yelled for Casey, whom I thought was still in the school barn. Katie was in the field and heard me yelling and ran out to help me. Well, we started walking back to the indoor ring and I asked Katie to hold her while I got back on. She seemed to have gotten it all out of her system. So I got back on, we walked around for ten minutes, trotted twice around.

The moral of the story: No matter how cute and sweet they may be, ponies can still be evil.

LOST!

My favorite show now. My family and I are watching season one on DVD, and we are almost done with it. Anyway I have spoilers so to anyone who has not watched season one, don't read this.

I am so tired of waiting for the hatch to open that Locke and Boone found. They totally teased us with the glowing door thing. Sometimes the story is incredably hard to follow, because so many thing are happening at once.

I should tell you. All the guys on Lost are so freakin' hot I have to show you pics.

Boone. I was so sad that he died. I really liked him. He was brave and worked hard to show people that he just wasn't some stupid guy, he wanted to work hard. That was hard with his really stupid step sister, she was useless. BTW, He was in love with her. It was hard to figure out why he was jealous of her and Sayid, but then they said the were STEP brother and sister. Sawyer. My Fav! Whatcha think? Smokin' right?
